Dear past/present members of PCRC
I hope you are well and still have great memories of your time spent with us at PCRC.
This letter is to give you advance notice of our clubs 60th Anniversary celebrations. Yes the rowing club in Peterborough has been going continuously for 60 years, being re-formed in 1948 after a long closure between the wars. Whether you were with us on the embankment—in the tin shed, the 2 storey clubhouse or temporary shipping containers—or at our current fabulous premises at Thorpe Meadows, you are welcome to join us.
The Special event to celebrate our anniversary will be held on 14th June 2008 at Thorpe Meadows. We have organised a marquee and the fun starts at 12 noon, with a buffet lunch, opportunity to meet up with old friends and perhaps get back into a boat during an innovative scratch regatta in the afternoon.
An evening event for all will round off the day with ex-members, partners and friends all welcome throughout.
Further details will be sent out later and be available on our web site, meanwhile please do put 14th June into your diaries and make an effort to join us.
Can you help us spread the word? If you are in contact with other past members, please pass this information on to them, we are hoping to get a 200+ party rocking the neighbourhood! I enclose a word document letter of this to assist you.
The club is currently very strong both on the water—finalists in the junior quads at Henley last year—and socially. If you wish to join us at the 60th Anniversary Regatta (7/8 June) or at any of our popular social events you would be very welcome.
I look forward to seeing you to help us celebrate this great milestone in the clubs history.
