We’re home to one of the few purpose built rowing lakes in the country and we make good use of it to host three of largest club regattas in the UK each year. We’re also lucky enough to have access to over 10km of rowable water on the River Nene and host the Head of the Nene river race annually.
The current club was founded in 1948 but there’s been a rowing club in Peterborough since the second half of the 1800s.
The club prides itself on catering for both competitive and recreational rowers and has an excellent range of boats and equipment for all levels.
Rowing success in recent years has included medals at the National Championships, the National Veterans Regatta and the World Masters, representation at Henley Royal Regatta and wide ranging victories in more local events.
The club boasts a large and well stocked boat house with over 80 club boats. We also have our own gym, changing facilities and fully licenced bar and club room. More details on all of these can be found in our facilities section.
This year we’re also please to announce that we have become home to the Anglian Ruskin University’s rowing club. Anglia Ruskin University has campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough and we’re pleased to be hosting their ambitious crews here at Peterborough City Rowing Club.
